The Tidwell Cancer Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson Tidwell. The vision of the foundation is to make a lasting difference in our community by educating our youth about the benefits of living a tobacco-free lifestyle. In response to the issue, the Tidwell Cancer Foundation teaches an anti-tobacco program called Tidwell’s Terrific Kids to elementary school children. Our main objective is to help empower kids to make healthy tobacco-free lifestyle decisions. Some of the highlights of the program include pre & post-tests and activity booklets for each child. The program also includes creative games and activities as well as entertaining skits with colorful costumes. Programs of this type succeed by increasing students’ knowledge about tobacco use. They are located at 208 13th Street, you can call them at 706-507-0123, or check out the website, at www.tidwellcancerfoundation.org
