Dr. Alap Shah joined the practice in October of 2002. He is a native of Texas. He received his bachelor degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996. He attended and received his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, New York, in 2000. He completed a two-year surgical residency at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica Queens, NY.
He is a member in good standing with the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association. He is a certified wound care specialist from the American Academy of Wound Management. While he is trained in all areas of podiatric medicine, his specialty is diabetes and diabetic wound care management. He is a participating physician at the St. Francis Wound Care Center and the Columbus Regional Wound Care Center.
He has been married to his wife, Pinki, since 2003 and they have two sons, Dilan and Jadin. He is an avid tennis player and participates in the CORTA tennis program at Copper Creek. He is a board member of IUCA (Indo-United States Cultural Association of Columbus). The IUCA provides a platform to increase awareness of Indian culture and heritage through organizing related events in the Columbus Community. He is also a member of the Columbus Contemporary Group at the Columbus Museum, the Columbus Quarterback Club, and the Downtown Rotary Club. His hobbies include music, basketball, billards, and working out.
